Crew Activities past, Present, and Future


---------------------------2013--------------------------------------------------

November 23 -- shooting sports with other council crews at Ashtabula Rod and Gun. archery, skeet, trap, and rifle. Pheasant hunting for those that want to huntM Deep fried turkey and pot luck to follow all of the shooting.

January 2013 -- The crew went bowling at Champion Lanes in Warren, Ohio. Everyone had a lot of fun.

January 2013 -- Headwaters District Klondike. Our own Committee Chair is the Event Chair for this years Klondike Derby held at Camp Stigwandish in Madison, Ohio. This is an event where Boy Scouts and Venturing scouts gather to sleep in the snow in tents. The day is spent going to various stations to compete and collect gold coins that can be used to bid on equipment at the auction held on Saturday night. Webelo Scouts are also invited to come out to spend time with boy scout troops. They have to sleep in cabins due to the cold.

February 2013 --

January -- Help with Klondike. The crew planned and prepared the food for the Headwaters District Klondike derby. Prepared and served 500 breakfasts and 350 dinners. We were all tired, but it was fun.
February -- We help crew 289 staff the Webelos Winter Challenge. 
March -- Dehydrate food and discuss lightweight foods for backpacking. Attended Ryan's eagle ceremony.
April -- Camping trip to Big Creek Park to prepare for our backpacking trip to Minister Creek. We had to pack in, and out, everything including garbage. We are also conducting fire-building training for the local Webelos den. The crew is having a Scrapbooking fund raiser this month.
May --
June -- Stigwandish Stampede. Cooking again. A lot of fun. Want to do it again next year.
July -- Helped the Burton Police with the Chatauqua Ohio program. Parking car. Watching the tent and buildings from 5:00 pm until 12:00 am. The crew voluteered a total of 210 hours. The crew had great fun working with the Police and would do it again if the opportunity came up.

December -- Bowling at Skylanes in Garrettsville

October -- Crew open house on Saturday October 29th from 1:00 pm until 5:00pm at Chickagami Park -- Weekend Campout for the Crew
